About the position

The Data Solutions Architect at Farm Credit Mid-America is responsible for designing data solutions for internally developed applications, ensuring they meet evolving business needs and align with the overall data strategy. This role involves collaboration with application delivery teams to create transactional data models and processes that optimize performance, scalability, flexibility, and data quality.

Responsibilities

• Design detailed data models and architectures for internally developed applications that align with broader data strategy and governance policies.
• Select appropriate technologies and platforms to support business needs effectively.
• Collaborate with data warehouse and integration teams to ensure transactional data models and processes support analytics and reporting needs.
• Provide guidance and consultation with delivery teams on technical implementation details of data solutions.
• Ensure seamless integration with existing systems and architecture by collaborating with developers, database administrators, and business analysts.
• Partner with enterprise architecture, data quality, governance stakeholders, and security team members to implement data governance standards and data protection policy.
• Align data solutions with the long-term vision and strategic goals of the association's data architecture.
• Continuously seek learning opportunities to grow relevant skills and stay current with industry trends in data and technology.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in computer science, data sciences, or related field, or equivalent relevant work experience.
• 4 years of experience working on database development projects and/or designing data architecture.
• Experience with SQL stored procedures and complex SQL to develop secure, performant, and flexible solutions.
• Familiarity with software development lifecycle and common practices such as code reviews and unit testing.
