The DataStax Database Admin / Senior Cassandra Consultant position is a critical role responsible for managing and optimizing DataStax Cassandra databases across multiple environments. The successful candidate will be tasked with installing, configuring, and upgrading the DataStax Cassandra DBMS, ensuring that it operates efficiently and securely. This role requires a deep understanding of Cassandra architecture and NoSQL concepts, as well as hands-on experience with the DataStax Enterprise (DSE) platform. The consultant will design and implement data models and schemas tailored to the specific needs of the organization, while also developing resource plans to optimize performance. In addition to installation and configuration, the consultant will monitor the health and performance of Cassandra clusters, proactively identifying and resolving issues such as performance bottlenecks, data inconsistencies, and software bugs. Implementing robust backup and recovery strategies is essential to ensure data integrity and minimize downtime. The role also involves automating administrative tasks using tools like Ansible, which includes creating and modifying Ansible playbooks to streamline monitoring, maintenance, and deployment processes. Staying updated with the latest DataStax and Cassandra releases, security patches, and industry best practices is crucial for this position.
