About the position

The Data Steward and Governance Specialist will coordinate all data governance activities within the Compliance Division of the Bureau of Investments (BOI). This role is essential for achieving Treasury data governance goals, including the development and maintenance of the BOI business glossary, data mapping, and data optimization plans. The specialist will also lead special projects, research industry-standard data governance tools, and ensure compliance with data requirements and application risks. Additionally, the position involves managing investment transaction workflows and supporting records management in compliance with retention schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all data governance activities within the Compliance Division of the Bureau of Investments (BOI).
  • Organize and lead BOI efforts to achieve Treasury data governance goals.
  • Develop and maintain the BOI business glossary, data mapping, and data optimization plan.
  • Participate in and/or lead special projects at the direction of management.
  • Research, analyze, and recommend industry-standard data governance tools.
  • Complete all BOI System Security Plans and other project artifacts.
  • Coordinate and manage investment transaction and negotiation workflows.
  • Develop, maintain, and update workflows and procedures for private market transaction management.
  • Serve as the BOI Records Management Liaison and support the Chief Compliance Officer.
  • Cross-train and provide backup support to various BOI liaisons and specialists.

Requirements

  • Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.
  • Four years of professional experience, including two years equivalent to the experienced (P11) level or one year equivalent to the advanced (12) level.
