The Data Storage Architect position at NavitsPartners involves a comprehensive role focused on engineering, designing, implementing, upgrading, hardening, and managing customer SAN (Storage Area Network) and NAS (Network Attached Storage) environments. This role is critical in ensuring that storage solutions are not only effective but also secure and resilient. The architect will be responsible for provisioning and allocating storage to various server assets, including virtual machines (VMs), Windows, and UNIX-based systems. This includes the assignment of RAID levels, LUN (Logical Unit Number), and volume configurations to optimize performance and reliability. In addition to the technical aspects, the Data Storage Architect will provide data backup, restoration, and redundancy solutions that align with customer requirements. A strong knowledge of Cisco and Brocade SAN fabrics, as well as EMC SAN/NAS storage technologies, is essential. Familiarity with various storage protocols such as NFS, iSCSI, CIFS, S3, and FC is also required to ensure seamless integration and functionality of storage solutions. The role demands experience with Dell EMC storage solutions, including Data Domain, Avamar, Isilon, and Dell's line of Power Servers. Candidates must have hands-on experience managing and troubleshooting Dell or VMware products, as this is crucial for maintaining operational efficiency. A solid background in cybersecurity practices and protocols is necessary, as the architect will need to respond swiftly and effectively to any security incidents that may arise. The position may require travel to client sites at short notice, emphasizing the need for flexibility and readiness to engage with clients directly.
