About the position

ALTA IT is seeking an experienced Military Data Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our team. As a Data SME, your expertise in Data Science, Data Visualization, and Data Engineering will be pivotal in shaping the future of our data-driven capabilities. This role requires a TS/SCI clearance and involves working 2-3 days a week onsite in the DMV area, including Arlington, Crystal City, Alexandria, and Washington, DC. In this position, you will support data initiatives by guiding the development of automation, improving data quality, and creating visually compelling data analytics. You will provide actionable insights to defense leadership and decision-makers, working with cross-functional teams to deliver multi-phased digital enterprise solutions through a focus on process analysis, data transformation, and pragmatic change management. Your leadership in data-driven decision-making will utilize data analysis and statistical modeling techniques to support evidence-based decision-making. Additionally, you will leverage historical and predictive analytics to predict trends, identify potential cost-saving opportunities, and optimize resource allocation. Conducting scenario analysis to assess the impact of different courses of action and identifying effective strategies to achieve organizational goals will also be part of your responsibilities. You will implement performance metrics that align with DoD Principal Staff Assistant objectives, enabling continuous evaluation of executive effectiveness. Leading the coordination of requirements meetings or conducting requirements workshops and sessions with business and stakeholders will be essential to your role.

Responsibilities

• Conduct scenario analysis to assess the impact of different courses of action and identify effective strategies to achieve organizational goals.

Requirements

• CLEARANCE: TS/SCI clearance is required
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a military Data Subject Matter Expert or related role, with demonstrated experience with digital strategy, IT project management, enterprise architecture, SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle), or transformation.
• Knowledge of Qlik/Qlik Sense, QVD/QlikView, and Qlik Production Application Standards (QPAS) is a significant plus.
• High level of proficiency in Python, DataBricks, SQL, Spark, and other Data Engineering and Data Science tools.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
• Must be in the DC Metro area and available to work onsite (Pentagon, Crystal City, VA, and Alexandria, VA) 2-3 days per week.

Nice-to-haves

• Recent DoD or IC-related experience.
• Previous experience with Advana is a plus.
