About the position

The Data Systems Analyst 3 position at UCI Health focuses on creating and maintaining research datasets and reporting using electronic health data, particularly from the Epic Clarity electronic medical records system. The role involves collaboration with a multidisciplinary team within the Enterprise Data and Analytics Department and aims to support health research data needs for the UCI Medical School. The analyst will utilize various UCI Health software tools to deliver high-quality reports and datasets.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain research datasets using electronic health data from Epic Clarity.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of developers in the Enterprise Data and Analytics Department.
• Deliver high-quality reports and datasets for health research needs.
• Utilize UCI Health software such as Tableau, SSIS, SSRS, and Epic Reporting Workbench.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience.
• 1+ years of experience working with health data.
• 1+ years of experience with SQL and MS SQL server, Oracle, or other SQL RDMS.
• 1+ year of data analytics experience using relational databases.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to perform basic performance tuning to optimize queries.

Nice-to-haves

• Strong working knowledge of the software development lifecycle.
• Experience with Epic EMR system.
• Experience using Collibra or similar Data Governance platform.
• Clarity Certification.
• 2+ years of healthcare research data analytics experience.
• 2+ years of healthcare analytics experience.
