About the position

The Data Systems Analyst, Senior is responsible for performing comprehensive data collection, documentation, and analysis of federal government programs and systems. This role requires a deep understanding of federal data processes and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights. The analyst will engage in various tasks that include compiling and organizing data for modeling, documentation, and product generation, as well as providing in-depth analyses to support decision-making processes. The position is hybrid, requiring on-site meetings in Washington, DC as needed, and involves collaboration with various stakeholders to present findings and support federal government deliverables. In this role, the analyst will define parameters for requested data outputs and analyses during data collection, ensuring that all data is accurately compiled and assembled for financial and analytical reports. The position also involves supporting detailed research efforts to enhance federal government programs and systems, assisting in the preparation of reports, briefings, and documentation that align with project deliverables. The analyst will play a crucial role in strategic planning, governance, and policy team activities, contributing to the overall effectiveness of the organization’s initiatives. Candidates for this position should possess a strong analytical ability, excellent attention to detail, and the capability to build effective interpersonal relationships. The role demands proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience in supporting federal contractors, particularly with knowledge of federal civilian agencies such as the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Defense Health Agency. A Federal Civilian Public Trust clearance is required, which involves a thorough background check and review of the candidate's history.

Responsibilities

  • Perform data collection, documentation, and analysis of federal government programs and systems.
  • Provide in-depth analyses using complex data to aid in decision-making.
  • Compile and organize data for modeling, documentation, and product generation.
  • Assemble and translate complex data into information for studies, reports, and documentation.
  • Define parameters of requested data output and analysis during data collection.
  • Collect, compile, and assemble data for financial and analytical reports.
  • Support detailed and thorough research to support federal government programs and systems.
  • Assist in preparation of reports, briefings, and documentation to support deliverables and work products.
  • Present products to different stakeholder audiences.
  • Support strategic planning, governance, and policy team activities.

Requirements

  • 8 years of federal government systems analyst experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in an associated discipline.
  • Expert experience performing federal government data collection.
  • Excellent experience performing data modeling, analysis, documentation, and product generation.
  • Excellent experience organizing and translating complex data into documentation.
  • Above average experience collecting and compiling data for accurate reporting.
  • Strong experience providing literature and online research support.
  • Strong experience assisting in preparation of documentation to support federal government deliverables.
  • Strong analytical ability, judgment and problem analysis techniques.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy skills.
  • Effective in interpersonal relationship building and collaboration.
  • Excellent experience with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
  • Experience supporting a federal contractor providing services to the federal government.
  • Knowledge of federal civilian agencies (e.g., Department of Veterans Affairs, Defense Health Agency, Health and Human Services) is preferred.
