The Aerospace Corporation is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Systems Engineer to support the Battle Management Command, Control and Communications (BMC3) Directorate at Headquarters Space Operations Command. This position is critical in providing experience-based technical expertise on ground systems, satellite operations, space capabilities, command and control, and battle management to ensure the operational readiness of United States Space Force (USSF) tactical forces for joint warfighting missions. The successful candidate will work closely with customer teams to identify programmatic, technical, and mission assurance challenges, developing timely and quality solutions for Data Transmit and Receive Network (DTRN) capabilities. This role involves solving complex problems in the development, fielding, planning, integration, and operational employment of new space combat power and BMC3 capabilities. In this position, you will collaborate in multi-disciplined and multi-organizational technical working group discussions, providing technical status and recommendations to Aerospace and government leadership. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality technical products in a timely manner while exemplifying Aerospace's corporate values of objectivity and integrity. The role requires a strong understanding of the elements and processes associated with a government system acquisition lifecycle, as well as the ability to establish and maintain trusted relationships with government customers and key stakeholders under minimal supervision. This position requires 100% on-site work at Peterson Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, CO, and involves working with mixed government, SE&I, and FFRDC teams in architecture, strategy, and systems engineering projects. The successful candidate will also support Space Force Generation (SPAFORGEN) and other activities to assess the readiness of space combat forces for presentation to joint warfighting commands. A current and active TS/SCI security clearance is required, along with the ability to travel domestically and possibly internationally.
