About the position

The Senior Data Visualization Consultant at Prime Therapeutics plays a crucial role in the design, development, and delivery of visualization-based solutions that empower data-driven strategic decisions across various business units. This position requires collaboration with business partners in client-facing divisions, product/project management, analytics, operations, and IT. The consultant will identify enhancement opportunities for existing visualization products and support the development of new products, ensuring that the solutions align with the company's mission to help people access the medicine they need. In this role, the consultant will analyze and produce reports from varied claims data to assess Prime's products and programs. They will utilize analytics to explore data, identify trends, and draw insights from complex, multi-faceted datasets. The consultant will assist stakeholders in achieving their objectives by developing prototype and production-supported metrics and dashboard visualizations. As a subject matter expert in business intelligence and visualization, the consultant will train and support clients and team members in creating visualizations and interpreting data effectively. The consultant will collaborate with internal stakeholders to define business requirements and document solution designs, fostering strategic partnerships with leadership and analyst teams. They will support the enterprise adoption of Tableau software by educating stakeholders on leveraging dashboards and reporting features, recommending solutions for data formatting in presentations, and providing visualization tool training. Additionally, the consultant will conduct maintenance and fine-tuning of dashboard designs, support the identification and mitigation of data issues, and apply industry best practices to visualization management. The role may also involve coaching and providing guidance to other team members, staying updated on industry best practices, and establishing relationships with technology vendors to influence product development. Other duties may be assigned as necessary, contributing to the overall success of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze or produce reports of varied claims data to assess Prime's products and/or programs; utilize analytics to explore data, identify trends, and draw insights from multi-faceted and high dimensional data
  • Assist stakeholders in achieving objectives through the development of prototype and production-supported metrics and dashboard visualizations
  • Act as a business intelligence and visualization subject matter expert by training and supporting clients and team members in the creation of visualizations, along with the use and interpretation of data
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define business requirements and develop/document solution design; develop strategic partnerships with various levels of leadership and analyst teams within the organization
  • Support enterprise adoption of Tableau software by educating stakeholders on how to leverage the dashboards and reporting features; recommend solutions or data formatting in both internal and external presentations and provide visualization tool training to resources to the business
  • Conduct maintenance and fine-tuning of dashboard design; support the business in the identification and mitigation of data issues; apply industry best practices to the management and maintenance of visualization design
  • May coach and provide guidance to other members of the team
  • Stays abreast of and shares industry best practices, information and technology; establishes relationships with technology vendors to influence product pipeline; gain deeper insights in how best to utilize adopted products
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in applied math, statistics, engineering, physics, accounting, finance, economics, computer sciences or business/social and behavioral science or related area of study, or the equivalent combination of education and/or relevant work experience; HS diploma or GED is required
  • 5 years of work experience in business intelligence, building visualizations/dashboards based upon large data sets and/or experience working with complex queries
  • 3 years of experience with dashboard generating technologies (like Tableau (v9.0 or higher), Tibco Spotfire, Qlik View, etc.)
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without need for work visa or residency sponsorship

Nice-to-haves

  • 7 years of work experience in business intelligence, building visualizations/dashboards based upon large data sets and/or experience working with complex queries
  • Experience in Big Data and Data Analytics
  • Familiarity with Atlassian stack (Confluence and JIRA)
  • Knowledge of Tableau optimization and tuning
  • Business Intelligence consulting experience
  • Prior experience with data consolidation and modeling
  • Prior PBM experience or experience working with medical claims, pharmacy claims, healthcare and/or benefits data
  • Experience in the implementation of quality process improvement efforts
