About the position

Modis is seeking a Data Visualization Analyst with Tableau expertise for a contract-to-hire position in San Francisco, CA. The role involves collaborating with business and technology teams to create visual analytics that support business objectives. Candidates will gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies in the data science and analytics field.

Responsibilities

• Build compelling, interactive dashboards in Tableau that answer key business questions.
• Query Hadoop/Hive, Vertica, DB2, Teradata, and other data sources directly to obtain necessary data for visualizations.
• Communicate requests to development teams to support appropriate staging and configuration of data for optimal dashboard performance.
• Meet directly with business users to understand and clarify reporting requirements.
• Provide Tableau training to inexperienced business users.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of analytics experience.
• 1 year of experience with Tableau.
• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field or a social science field with a quantitative emphasis.
• Experience in data analysis, particularly in retail, marketing, e-commerce, internet advertising, SEO, or SEM.
• Basic familiarity with SQL.

Nice-to-haves

• 2+ years in an analytical role.
• Working knowledge of SQL and database architecture.
