About the position

The Data Visualization Developer will support the Intelligence Community by providing advanced data visualization and insight generation through intuitive web-based capabilities and reporting. This role involves developing dashboards, conducting ad-hoc analyses, and collaborating with stakeholders to deliver critical visual reporting services. The developer will also integrate multi-source data and lead complex analytical efforts, ensuring that data-driven decision-making is at the forefront of the organization's operations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced data visualization and insight generation via web-based capabilities and reporting.
  • Develop intuitive dashboards and data visualization products using Tableau or other tools.
  • Support business decisions with ad-hoc analysis.
  • Strategically publish data visualizations and present analytic results.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to complete high-profile visual reporting services.
  • Orchestrate multi-source data integration and normalization using Excel, SQL, and/or Python.
  • Lead complex data analytical efforts and serve as a subject matter expert.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of client drivers to update analytics and reporting.
  • Investigate and present recommendations to enhance visualization of key client drivers.
  • Prepare Tableau dashboards for the Mission Services Dashboard project.
  • Review data samples and assist with defining data schemas and models.
  • Propose approaches for repeatable data analytics and automations.
  • Evaluate data to improve service capacity and quality.
  • Make recommendations to improve the DIA BEM analytical environment.
  • Assist in reviewing and implementing new analytical technologies.
  • Support requirements gathering and documentation efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field and 4 years' experience using Tableau or similar software for data visualization.
  • A minimum of 8 years of data analytics work experience.
  • Experience with programming languages like SQL, Python, or R.
  • At least 2 years of experience within the Intelligence Community.
  • Experience with MS PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and SharePoint.
  • Previous experience providing data analytic solutions to executive management.
  • Ability to lead complex analytical work efforts and manage other data analysts.
  • Knowledge of best practices in data visualization and business intelligence software.
  • Experience developing visualizations and deploying them to server environments.
  • Ability to design data architectures for user access and analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Preferred experience in data munging, data and feature engineering, and predictive analytics.
