As a pivotal member of our team, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver actionable insights and unlock the full potential of our data. As a Data Visualization Engineer 2, you will be responsible for building user interfaces, visualizations, and data algorithms. Your work will involve taking complex data and making it more accessible, understandable, and usable for leaders to derive insights, ultimately enabling them to make better business decisions. The assignments you undertake will be varied and will frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action. In this role, you may work with stakeholders to perform data analytics and write software, assist in the development of our cloud-based analytics platform, and build interactive visualizations and front-end software applications for stakeholder engagement. You will also be expected to understand departmental, segment, and organizational strategies and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas. Your decision-making will be guided by established guidelines and procedures, and you will occasionally navigate ambiguous situations with minimal direction.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage cutting-edge tools and techniques to translate complex data into visual stories.
  • Design intuitive dashboards and interactive visualizations for data-driven decision-making.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver actionable insights.
  • Build user interfaces, visualizations, and data algorithms.
  • Make complex data accessible and understandable for leaders.
  • Work with stakeholders to perform data analytics and write software.
  • Assist in the development of a cloud-based analytics platform.
  • Build interactive visualizations and front-end software applications for stakeholder engagement.
  • Understand departmental and organizational strategies and objectives.
  • Make decisions regarding work methods with minimal direction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 2 - 5 years of professional experience in data analytics and building user interfaces, visualizations, and data algorithms.
  • Minimum of 2 years developing on SQL and SSIS.
  • Minimum of 2 years developing SQL objects (Tables, Stored Procedures, Functions, Views, etc.).
  • Minimum of 2 years developing and deploying SSIS Packages.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as a BI/DW professional or Qlik Sense Developer.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in Qlik Sense development, complex dashboards, data modeling, and reporting techniques.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience with data transformation and creation of QVD files.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience with front-end development applying best practices for visualizations.
  • Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexible, dynamic personality who works well in a team environment.
  • Strong time-management, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Healthcare or managed care experience.
  • Experience analyzing existing SQL queries for performance improvements.
  • Experience developing SQL in an agile project management setting.
  • Understanding of relational database management systems.
  • Knowledge of database design principles and best practices.
  • Ability to write complex SQL Stored Procedures and T-SQL queries.
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik NPrinting.
  • Experience creating Qlik Sense master dimensions, measures, and visualizations.
  • Experience with reporting and creating metrics for management.
  • Experience with data mining and predictive modeling techniques.
