About the position

The Quantitative Analyst/Data Analytics position is primarily focused on producing innovative solutions through exploratory data analysis of complex and high-dimensional datasets. This role requires a strong foundation in statistics, machine learning, programming, data modeling, simulation, and advanced mathematics. The analyst will be responsible for recognizing patterns, identifying opportunities, posing business questions, and making valuable discoveries that lead to prototype development and product improvement. In this role, the analyst will utilize a flexible and analytical approach to design, develop, and evaluate predictive models and advanced algorithms, ensuring optimal value extraction from the data. The position involves generating and testing hypotheses, analyzing and interpreting the results of product experiments, and collaborating with product engineers to translate prototypes into new products, services, and features. Additionally, the analyst will provide guidelines for large-scale implementation and support Business Intelligence (BI) and data visualization efforts, including online customer service dashboards and other ad-hoc data analysis requests. The ideal candidate will have experience with programming languages such as Python and/or R, big data tools like Hadoop, and data visualization tools such as Tableau. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for conveying complex information and engaging with stakeholders. The role is entry-level to mid-level, requiring a Master of Science degree in computer science or a relevant field, or equivalent work experience, along with 0 to 3 years of relevant experience. A background in risk resilience or IT operations is preferred, with a statistical background considered a nice-to-have.

Responsibilities

  • Produce innovative solutions driven by exploratory data analysis from complex datasets.
  • Design, develop, and evaluate predictive models and advanced algorithms.
  • Generate and test hypotheses and analyze results of product experiments.
  • Collaborate with product engineers to translate prototypes into new products and services.
  • Provide Business Intelligence (BI) and data visualization support, including online customer service dashboards.
  • Assist with data governance and operational resilience reporting.

Requirements

  • Master of Science degree in computer science or a relevant field or equivalent work experience required.
  • Entry level to 3 years of relevant experience required.
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python and/or R.
  • Familiarity with big data tools such as Hadoop.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, Looker, or Qlik.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with data prep tools such as Tableau Prep, Alteryx, Informatica, or Trifacta.
  • Knowledge of SQL and R coding.
  • Statistical background is a nice to have.
