About the position

The Data Visualization Specialist, also known as The Visual Insight Creator, is responsible for transforming complex data into engaging and actionable visual narratives. This role involves designing and delivering interactive dashboards and reports that empower stakeholders and enhance decision-making. The specialist will collaborate with analysts, data scientists, and business leaders to create visualizations that reveal insights and support data-driven strategies, ensuring that data is accessible and engaging for all users.

Responsibilities

  • Create interactive dashboards and reports using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Looker, ensuring visualizations are clear and actionable.
  • Translate complex data into impactful visuals by collaborating with data analysts and business teams.
  • Validate data sources and maintain data quality standards to ensure accuracy in visualizations.
  • Develop and enforce data visualization best practices, creating style guides and templates for consistency.
  • Design visualizations with user experience in mind, gathering feedback to continuously improve dashboards.
  • Educate and support teams in using dashboards and interpreting visualizations, developing training materials and conducting workshops.
  • Stay updated on new data visualization techniques, tools, and best practices to enhance capabilities.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
  • Strong design and storytelling skills to present data intuitively and impactfully.
  • Knowledge of data analysis techniques and proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
  • Strong communication skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams and presenting insights to non-technical audiences.
  • Detail-oriented approach to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and quality.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with data preparation tools.
  • Experience with design tools like Adobe Illustrator or Figma.
  • Certifications in data visualization tools such as Tableau Specialist or Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst.
