About the position

The Data Visualization Specialist at Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP is responsible for transforming complex data into clear, engaging, and actionable visual stories. This role is essential for helping clients make informed, data-driven decisions and effectively communicate information to stakeholders. The specialist will design impactful visualizations, collaborate with various teams, and ensure data accuracy while staying updated with the latest trends in data visualization.

Responsibilities

• Design and create impactful data visualizations, dashboards, and infographics
• Collaborate with data analysts, researchers, and subject matter experts to understand data sets and business needs
• Translate raw data into visually appealing and easily understandable graphics
• Develop interactive visualizations and data-driven storytelling pieces
• Ensure data accuracy and implement best practices in data visualization
• Stay current with the latest data visualization tools, techniques, and trends

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Graphic Design, or related field
• 4-9 years of experience in data visualization or related role
• Proficiency in JavaScript and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, D3.js)
• Strong knowledge of data analysis and statistical concepts
• Excellent design skills with a portfolio demonstrating data visualization work
• Ability to work with large, complex datasets
• Ability to convey complex information to diverse audiences
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Collaborative team player with the ability to work independently

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree in a relevant field
• Experience with programming languages (e.g., Python, R) for data manipulation
• Experience with database systems (PostgreSQL preferred)
• Knowledge of UX/UI design principles
• Experience with ArcGIS Online
