About the position

The Data Warehouse Analyst at Elevance Health plays a crucial role in partnering with both internal and external business clients as well as IT to fulfill information needs and support business decisions. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about data and its impact on healthcare. The analyst will maintain information policies and procedures that support current and future data information needs, ensuring proper data definitions, ownership, use, and integrity of data. This involves analyzing business user needs, documenting information requirements, and facilitating the identification of potential gaps in available data. The analyst will collaborate with various business areas to determine the best means for acquiring the necessary data. In addition to working closely with business clients, the Data Warehouse Analyst will collaborate with IT resources on the creation and maintenance of the data warehouse content. This includes establishing and maintaining a general knowledge of data warehouse data structure design, definitions, capabilities, SQL, and data integrity issues. The analyst will complete metadata assessments and review feedback to determine necessary changes, ensuring that data definitions are clear and current. Communication of any changes to data definitions to all users is also a key responsibility. Furthermore, the analyst will work with IT resources and data owners to define business objectives and definitions for databases, which includes establishing business rules, sources, purge archive criteria, and reload schedules. This role is essential in ensuring that the data warehouse effectively supports the organization's strategic goals and enhances decision-making processes.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in data analysis, data modeling, and working with automated data warehouse systems.
  • Experience in SQL, SAS, and Business Objects preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • Experience writing transactional SQL statements.
  • Technical skills in MS-Access, MS Excel, and ETL preferred.
