About the position

The Data Warehouse and BI Developer at Carriage Services is responsible for overseeing the Data Warehouse, Dashboards, and SQL and Power BI Reports. This role involves troubleshooting and tuning existing systems, designing and improving ETL processes, and maintaining Azure DevOps Pipelines. The developer will work closely with end-users to optimize reports and integrations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality data solutions that enhance operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and tune existing Data Warehouse, Dashboards, and Reporting systems.
• Write and modify SSRS and Power BI reports.
• Design and improve current ETL processes.
• Maintain Azure DevOps Pipelines.
• Create and update Power BI Data Models.
• Own and develop relationships with end-users to optimize and enhance existing reports and integrations.
• Help design, document, and maintain system processes.
• Improve systems by studying current practices and designing modifications.
• Recommend controls by identifying problems and writing improved procedures.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Business, or Information Science.
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience in the field or in a related area.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2008 onwards, Transact-SQL, and Business Intelligence Development Studio (SSAS, SSIS, SSRS, Visual Studio).
• Power BI experience.
• Knowledge in Azure Data Factory and Pipelines.
• Familiarity with Essbase and MDX scripts is a plus.
• Operational Data Warehouse experience.
• Basic knowledge or expertise in technology disciplines such as Servers, Desktop/Laptop/Workstation Computing, Networking, Security, Programming, and/or IT Operations.
• Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint).
• Detail-oriented with the ability to work in a team setting.
• Self-starter with the ability to resolve issues with minimal supervision.
• Positive attitude and good customer skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with Essbase and MDX scripts.
