About the position

The Data Warehouse Architect is responsible for developing and modifying BusinessObjects components and Informatica scripts to fulfill business requests. This role involves collaboration with a team of data warehouse professionals and requires forward-thinking to enhance the enterprise data warehouse, ensuring it delivers high business value and usability across various business areas.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement business intelligence tools or applications for data access and analysis.
  • Manage and monitor performance usage of the analytic server and BI reporting tool in collaboration with the System Admin group.
  • Develop business-oriented metadata definitions with Data Stewards.
  • Identify data quality issues and design processes to improve data quality in collaboration with data stewards and the data warehouse architect.
  • Develop test plans for new analytic applications and business performance dashboards.
  • Assist in developing and implementing training programs for BI reporting tool users.
  • Participate in design sessions, demos, and training workshops with business users and IT associates.
  • Develop and maintain documentation as needed.
  • Provide business support for deployed BI applications.
  • Complete Service Requests in areas such as universes, metrics, and dashboards.
  • Define and implement the BI security model and ensure compliance with security administration.
  • Support business projects by providing subject matter expertise in universe design and BO tool capabilities.
  • Develop, implement, and govern BI usage policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the BI environment remains optimal and efficient in terms of universes, reports, and repository usage.
  • Gather ETL requirements, estimate workload, and design ETL solutions.
  • Optimize the ETL environment.
  • Establish Data Architecture to create BI and ETL standards and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in business or IT consulting.
  • 10+ years of report development using the Business Objects suite (XI R2 preferred).
  • Strong experience in Business Objects Universe design and data modeling techniques.
  • Strong SQL skills.
  • 10+ years of experience in a Data Warehouse environment.
  • Experience with ETL design, workflows, and mappings.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Informatica Data Quality, Metadata Manager, and Power Analyzer.
  • Familiarity with Informatica Administration.
  • Experience with Oracle 10G database skills.
  • Familiarity with TOAD or similar tools.
