About the position

The Data Warehouse Data Analyst, Ad-Hoc Report Writer role is a contractor position within the Enterprise Information Management group. This role is essential for providing ad-hoc reporting functions for the Quick Response Report Team, particularly during a transitional period as the team adapts to changes in personnel. The position involves interfacing with both internal and external users to design, develop, and fulfill report requests, utilizing various SQL tools and techniques.

Responsibilities

• Perform data analysis and report development activities for the Ad-Hoc Reporting Team.
• Analyze source system data to understand the data structure, definitions, and anomalies.
• Interact with customers to better define and understand reporting requirements.
• Collaborate with other technical team members to establish reporting requirements.
• Perform daily SQL query and report writing as requested.
• Develop SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages to extract large data sets for user requests.
• Document report designs and processes clearly and concisely.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in MIS, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 4 years of experience in SQL Server 2005 or 2008 relational database.
• Experience in SQL and Microsoft T-SQL Query and Report Writing.
• Excellent SQL query skills.
• Strong data analysis and report writing skills.
• Knowledge of relational and Star Schema / Dimensional database design.

• Ability to effectively communicate in non-technical terms with business unit management and end users.
• Computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to read, interpret, and develop Data Flow Diagrams.
