The Data Warehouse Developer ETL role is designed to support the Data Analytics Team in retrieving and processing data from various data systems. This position is crucial for ensuring data quality before it is released for use in data extracts, reports, and dashboards. The developer will be responsible for creating, executing, and monitoring ETL processes, which includes tracking and documenting findings throughout the data handling process. Additionally, the role involves creating test scripts using SQL programming to validate data points against both transactional systems and the data warehouse, ensuring that all data is accurate and reliable. Documentation is also a key component of this role, as the developer will need to create materials that support the repeatability of testing metrics, which is essential for maintaining high standards in data quality and process efficiency. In this position, the developer will work closely with SQL Server DBAs, system architects, and application developers to design databases that are stable, reliable, and optimized for performance. The role requires planning and coordinating data migrations between systems, assisting in the formulation of business and testing requirements, and developing high-quality deliverables that meet organizational standards. The developer will also be expected to follow all required software development standards, change control procedures, and security requirements to ensure compliance and data integrity. Collaboration is a significant aspect of this role, as the developer will need to build relationships with project sponsors, stakeholders, other technical staff, vendors, and end users. The position also involves coordinating and performing unit, system, and performance testing, as well as working with team members on User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and issue resolution. Continuous improvement is encouraged, with the developer expected to identify and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing processes and develop strategies for enhancements. Regular status reports and communications will be produced to keep all stakeholders informed of progress and challenges.
