About the position

The Data Warehouse Developer will play a crucial role in the implementation of an Enterprise Data Warehouse and Data Marts development efforts. This position is designed for a contractor who will work closely with a small but senior team of technology professionals, directly engaging with the business to provide tailored solutions. The primary focus will be on Relational Data Modeling, Topology, and ETL methodologies, ensuring consistency of data across various databases. The contractor will also be responsible for SQL code reviews, enforcing SQL standards, and optimizing stored procedures as necessary. Collaboration with the SQL Administrator is essential to ensure that the solutions align with the firm's enterprise approach to database layouts, as well as with developers and users involved in various projects. In this role, the contractor will assist in designing and maintaining the Data Warehouse and Data Marts, which includes designing Data Models and data access methods for the application group. The contractor will determine and socialize best practices in the data model and assist with reporting layers built on top of the Data Marts. Additionally, participation in code reviews and stored procedure optimization will be required, along with contributions to process improvement initiatives. The contractor may also take on lead or developer roles on various projects as needed, making this a dynamic and engaging position for an experienced data professional.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with designing and maintaining the Data Warehouse and Data Marts
  • Design Data Models and data access methods for the application group

Requirements

  • BS in Computer Science or related fields
  • 5+ years as a database architect utilizing the SQL Server stack
  • 5+ years of SQL performance tuning
  • Familiarity with N-Tier applications
