About the position
CGI is seeking an experienced Data Warehouse Technical Lead to join our team in Madison, WI. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced team environment focused on technology for human services. The role can be performed from any CGI office location, with a preference for Madison, WI. As a Data Warehouse Technical Lead, you will be responsible for developing architectural strategies for data modeling, design, and implementation to address business problems outlined in existing requests and proposals. You will engage with business partners to analyze business processes and recommend technical solutions, ensuring that enterprise Data and Analytics solutions are designed and implemented effectively for unique and complicated enterprise business challenges. In this role, you will leverage your hands-on experience in building end-to-end data and analytics solutions, including data modeling, data warehousing, ETL, reporting, and analytics. You will support the team in the development, documentation, and implementation of data models for transactional systems and reporting solutions, ETL for analytics solutions and data migrations, and data analytic and reporting solutions using tools such as Power BI or Tableau. Additionally, you will lead solution design and architecture reviews of data models, ETL, and analytics solutions, ensuring compliance with BITS standards for data modeling, ETL, and reporting. Effective communication is key in this role, as you will be responsible for updating project status, addressing issues, and providing resolutions to appropriate leads and managers. You will also support other team members and manage project workloads as capacity permits, contributing to a collaborative and productive team environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop architectural strategies for data modeling, design, and implementation to solve business problems.
- Engage with business partners to analyze business processes and recommend technical solutions.
- Design and implement enterprise Data and Analytics solutions for unique and complicated enterprise business problems.
- Build end-to-end data and analytics solutions in data modeling, data warehousing, ETL, reporting, and analytics.
- Support the development, documentation, and implementation of data models for transactional systems and reporting solutions.
- Implement ETL for analytics solutions and data migrations.
- Create data analytic and reporting solutions using tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Conduct end-to-end system testing and establish data quality metrics.
- Lead solution design and architecture reviews of data models, ETL, and analytics solutions.
- Verify compliance with BITS standards for data modeling, ETL, and reporting.
- Communicate project status, issues, and resolutions with appropriate leads and managers.
- Support other team members and manage project workloads as capacity permits.
Requirements
- At least five (5) years of experience developing full lifecycle Data and Analytics solutions.
- Hands-on experience building end-to-end data and analytics solutions in data modeling, data warehousing, ETL, reporting, and analytics.
- Demonstrated ability to recognize business needs, analyze requests, and recommend solid technical solutions.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
- Experience in a data lead role.
- Experience managing scope, schedule, and quality of work to ensure successful delivery of projects.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with domain experts.
