About the position

Peraton is seeking an experienced Database Administrator to support the National Programs Intelligence Systems & Application Operating Unit. This role involves the orchestration, sustainment, and evolution of mission applications and services for the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA). The Database Administrator will be responsible for maintaining operational baselines, performance monitoring, troubleshooting database issues, and providing technical assistance to users.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the integrity, security, and availability of multiple databases.
  • Monitor database availability and performance, diagnosing and troubleshooting issues.
  • Perform routine maintenance, performance analysis, and tuning of databases.
  • Conduct disaster backup and recovery, index maintenance, and capacity planning.
  • Administer and implement policies for database security and integrity.
  • Plan and schedule maintenance, including routine and emergency security patching.
  • Maintain access control settings, user accounts, and perform database backups.
  • Evaluate and recommend database management system (DBMS) products.
  • Support platform system administrators with analysis and recommendations for performance improvements.
  • Perform database and software life-cycle activities to ensure system performance and compliance.
  • Coordinate with vendors to resolve issues and obtain application patches.
  • Administer Oracle and PostgreSQL databases and application servers.
  • Organize and format data for efficient query and storage processes.
  • Update applicable documentation.

Requirements

  • Requires 8 years of experience with a BS/BA, 6 years with an MS/MA, or 4 years with a PhD; an additional 4 years of experience can be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Proficient in Oracle 19c.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain a polygraph.
  • Proficient with Oracle PL/SQL and RMAN.
  • Familiarity with PostgreSQL.
  • Experience with Windows Server 2016 and 2019.
  • Experience with Oracle WebLogic.
  • Experience with JBOSS, Apache, Tomcat, and Java.
  • Experience with Linux (CENTOS, RHEL).
  • Active CompTIA Security+ CE Certification.
  • DoD 8570 Certification in a primary DBMS (PostgreSQL and/or Oracle).
  • Ability to work after hours and weekends when needed for deployments.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience supporting DIA and the IC.
  • Experience with system accreditation process and RMF.
  • Experience installing/configuring and managing PostgreSQL and Oracle databases in a classified environment.
  • Experience with Oracle Text package.
  • Experience with Oracle Content Manager running on Oracle WebLogic.
  • Experience performing database admin duties in the C2S/AWS environment.
  • Knowledge of Linux, Windows, and Weblogic servers.
  • Familiarity with DODIIS security/builds.
  • Knowledge of enterprise level VMware products.
  • Knowledge of API Services (DPaaS), OpenShift4, and CI/CD.
