About the position

Advanced Technologies and Laboratories (ATL), a Planned Systems International (PSI) company, is seeking a Database Administration Support candidate to join our team at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in Denver, Colorado. This position provides essential database administration support for the Department of Energy Facility Information Management System (FIMS), Condition Assessment Information System (CAIS), and NREL's Integrated Workplace Management System (IWMS) databases. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of these databases, which are vital for managing real property assets and supporting the operations of the Space Coordination Team. In this role, you will assist with day-to-day operations, including maintaining and updating the FIMS and CAIS databases as per DOE requirements. You will be responsible for generating annual standard and ad-hoc reports for FIMS and AAIM, collaborating with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) on data validation, and gathering necessary source documentation. Additionally, you will help manage all real property assets, ensuring accurate asset inventory and compliance with DOE regulations. Your responsibilities will also include performing annual walkthroughs and asset management services, coordinating facility condition assessments, and maintaining the Master Asset List in collaboration with Supervisors and Chief Leads. The position requires strong analytical skills, as you will need to interpret scientific and technical documents, respond to inquiries from various stakeholders, and present information effectively to management and public groups. You will also need to apply mathematical concepts and reasoning skills to solve practical problems and make informed decisions in complex situations. The role demands a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently while adhering to ESH&Q policies to maintain a safe working environment. Other duties may be assigned as necessary to support the team's objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Provide database administration support for FIMS, CAIS, and IWMS databases.
  • Assist the Space Coordination Team with day-to-day operations.
  • Help maintain and update the FIMS database as needed per DOE requirements.
  • Provide FIMS and AAIM annual standard and ad-hoc reports as requested.
  • Work with SMEs on data validation for each data element and gather all required source documentation.
  • Assist with planning and managing all real property assets as required by DOE and provide accurate asset inventory.
  • Maintain and update the CAIS database as needed per DOE requirements.
  • Assist with FIMS to CAIS uploads to maintain the accuracy of critical data elements.
  • Perform annual walkthroughs and asset management services to maintain data accuracy.
  • Assist with annual facility condition assessments, coordinating schedules with Facility Managers and subcontractors, and providing assessment reports.
  • Coordinate with Supervisors and Chief Leads to maintain and update the Master Asset List as required.
  • Provide support for NREL's IWMS database Workspace, including maintaining and updating Workspace data, monitoring support email, and managing move requests.
  • Update and maintain the accuracy of graphic floor plans in Workspace.
  • Follow all ESH&Q policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

Requirements

  • Relevant Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or Interior Design and 5 or more years of experience or equivalent relevant education/experience.
  • Registration as a licensed architect or similar relevant certifications desired.
  • Ability to obtain NREL site security access.
  • Must pass background, reference, and drug screen.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Department of Energy FIMS and CAIS databases.
  • IWMS / CAFM database administration experience (FM:Systems, Archibus, Tririga, etc.).
  • Strong leadership, project management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to use various computer software programs.
