About the position

The Database Administrator position involves creating and managing production databases, optimizing performance, and ensuring data integrity within the Financial Data Warehouse. The role requires collaboration with programmers and analysts to implement changes and enhancements, as well as providing technical assistance to users. The position focuses on advanced database development tasks, including performance tuning, data modeling, and the creation of PL/SQL code, primarily using Oracle databases.

Responsibilities

  • Create and manage production databases by entering codes and monitoring performance.
  • Direct programmers and analysts to implement changes to the database management system.
  • Review and correct database programs as needed.
  • Answer user questions and provide technical assistance regarding database changes.
  • Modify database programs to enhance processing performance through performance tuning.
  • Evaluate user requests for new data elements and incorporate them into the existing data environment.
  • Coordinate data usage to ensure integrity and control redundancy.
  • Perform data modeling and prototyping, including logical and physical data modeling.
  • Maintain the data dictionary and ensure uniformity of definitions.
  • Monitor database performance and recommend efficiency improvements.
  • Create test database environments and execute procedures for data recovery.
  • Assist with database software installation and analyze, design, and implement databases.
  • Benchmark and test databases, establishing necessary security measures.

Requirements

  • 6 years of experience in Oracle database design, analysis, and performance tuning.
  • 6 years of experience with Oracle database structures and data analysis.
  • 6 years of experience designing enterprise applications and/or services.
  • 6 years of experience creating technical and functional design documentation.
  • 6 years of experience with the software development lifecycle using Agile methodology (e.g., Scrum).
  • 6 years of experience in multi-tier system/application development (e.g., SOA, Microservices, 3-Tier applications).
  • Knowledge of computer programming languages and database technologies.

Nice-to-haves

  • 1 year of experience with Jira.
  • 1 year of Oracle Certification.
  • 1 year of experience with data warehouse applications or database reporting features.
