About the position

The Database Administrator 3 position is a remote role requiring local candidates from Texas. The role involves managing and optimizing production databases, ensuring data integrity and security, and providing support for complex database initiatives. The candidate will work independently on various tasks, including performance tuning and database management, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance application performance.

Responsibilities

  • Create and manage production databases by entering codes and selecting utility programs to monitor performance.
  • Direct programmers and analysts to implement changes in the database management system.
  • Review and correct database programs to ensure optimal performance.
  • Answer user questions and confer with coworkers regarding the impact of database changes.
  • Modify database programs to enhance processing performance through performance tuning.
  • Assist in the planning, development, maintenance, and monitoring of integrated database systems.
  • Ensure that new applications align with the structural parameters of the database environment.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience implementing, administering, managing, and monitoring application databases in production and non-production environments.
  • Advanced knowledge and expertise in developing and optimizing Oracle SQL and PL/SQL code.
  • Experience with database automation to align Enterprise CI/CD workflows, including familiarity with automation orchestrators like Jenkins.
  • Hands-on experience with APEX development is highly desirable.
  • Experience leading complex initiatives for performance tuning improvements and advising developers on tuning options.
  • In-depth knowledge of Oracle internal views, built-in functions, and architecture for data analysis and query support.
  • Proven ability to analyze and resolve complex issues in development and production databases using Oracle 11/19c.
  • Advanced knowledge in monitoring, troubleshooting, and fine-tuning SQL and PL/SQL on Oracle databases in Solaris/Linux environments.
  • Experience using Oracle SQL Developer and Erwin Modeling tool for data modeling.
  • Hands-on experience with large development projects using Agile methodology.
