As a Database Administrator at MetroStar, you will play a crucial role in supporting a high-visibility, mission-critical customer. This position requires you to provide daily interface and communication support for a VIP Federal customer, ensuring that their database needs are met with precision and efficiency. You will work alongside a highly qualified technical team, where collaboration and innovation are key. Your responsibilities will include developing new applications and maintaining legacy applications, which are essential for the operational success of our client’s mission. In this role, you will leverage your extensive experience in database administration to monitor daily database activity and health using SQL tools. You will be responsible for creating complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, cursors, and user-defined functions to implement business logic effectively. Your expertise will also be vital in providing primary support to various business-critical SQL Server applications, ensuring their optimal performance and reliability. You will be expected to have a strong understanding of migrating, backing up, and restoring databases, whether in place or to new environments. Familiarity with other relational database systems, such as MySQL, will be beneficial. Additionally, you will oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of databases in Kubernetes and Linux environments, utilizing your knowledge of containerization technologies like Kubernetes and Docker, as well as cloud services such as Azure and AWS. Your experience with CI/CD development using technologies like GitLab, Bash, or Jenkins will also be essential in this role.
