About the position

The Database Administrator/Architect role at GDIT involves transforming technology into opportunities by managing and architecting database systems for the US Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM). This position requires a Top Secret/SCI clearance and focuses on ensuring the security, availability, and integrity of database management systems while supporting the organization's data needs and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the design, creation, and maintenance of computerized databases.
• Ensure quality control and auditing of databases for accurate data usage.
• Develop database strategies in collaboration with management to meet organizational requirements.
• Consult with users to resolve data conflicts and inappropriate data usage.
• Direct the maintenance and use of the corporate data dictionary.
• Administer, maintain, and develop policies for the security and integrity of the DBMS.
• Create and update documentation for the accreditation of the DBMS on classified networks.
• Perform performance analysis, tuning, and index maintenance for databases.
• Build new Microsoft SQL Server Instances and collaborate with other teams to implement best practices.
• Automate routine administration tasks and maintain continuity documents.
• Implement and manage High Availability and Disaster Recovery features for MS SQL Server.
• Verify and develop database backup, storage, and replication schemes.

Requirements

• 10+ years of related experience in database management and architecture.
• BS Degree with 12 years of experience or MS Degree with 10 years of experience.
• Top Secret/SCI clearance required.
• DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II/8140 Computing Environment (CE) Certification required prior to support on contract.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience installing, configuring, securing, updating, and maintaining SQL Server Enterprise 2022.
• Experience using SQL Server Management Studio.
• Ability to evaluate and resolve Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
• Experience implementing SQL Server Backup, Integrity check, and Index Optimizers.
