About the position

The Database Administrator / Developer position at Mayflower Communications Company is a full-time role that requires US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoD Security Clearance. This is a permanent position that necessitates a 100% on-site presence at our Bedford, Massachusetts location. The company is a leader in the research and development of GPS-related hardware and software, focusing on advanced products for both government and commercial markets. The role is critical due to the planned growth and increased production within the company, creating an urgent need for an experienced professional to join the Production team. In this position, the Database Administrator / Developer will be responsible for administering Microsoft SQL Server databases and developing and optimizing applications and integrations using the Microsoft SQL Server platform. The successful candidate will manage Microsoft SQL Server databases through various product lifecycle environments, from development to production systems. Key tasks will include developing, maintaining, and enhancing imports, vendor exports, data warehousing tasks, reports, and other data-related tasks. Additionally, the role involves monitoring job and transfer queues to ensure they are functioning as expected and assisting in the conversion and loading of MS Office documents into electronic Document Control systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, with a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as engineering, computer science, or information technology. A minimum of 3-5 years of DBA experience is required, along with proficiency in MS SQL Server versions 2008 through 2016, strong SQL development skills, and familiarity with Microsoft Access and Visual Basic. General knowledge of Supply Chain processes is considered a plus. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline such as engineering, computer science, or information technology.
  • DBA experience of 3-5 years.
  • Proficient skills using MS SQL Server 2008/2012/2014/2016.
  • Strong development skills in SQL.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Access & Visual Basic.
  • General Supply Chain knowledge is a plus.
