The Database Administrator for the ELK Stack will play a crucial role in maintaining and supporting the Elasticsearch cluster, which is a key component of our data management and analytics strategy. This position requires a seasoned professional with over 7 years of experience specifically with the ELK Stack, including ElasticSearch, Logstash, and Kibana. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating clusters from scratch, decommissioning and recommissioning servers, and analyzing and troubleshooting issues that arise within the clusters. In addition to these core responsibilities, the Database Administrator will evaluate existing Elastic clusters, focusing on configuration parameters, indexing, security, and overall administration. It is essential to maintain appropriate infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and data integrity. The role also involves keeping Elasticsearch clusters upgraded and following best practices to ensure the system operates efficiently. Monitoring and alerting of Elasticsearch will be a critical aspect of this position, requiring a proactive approach to identify and resolve potential issues before they impact operations. A solid understanding of networking is also necessary to support network-related pipelines, ensuring seamless data flow and integration across systems.
