About the position

Lesley University is seeking a Database Administrator (DBA) for Advancement Services, a vital role within the department. The DBA will be responsible for managing, planning, and providing technical expertise for the Raiser's Edge Fund Raising service. This position requires collaboration with colleagues to establish consistent processes that ensure data integrity within Advancement databases. The DBA will enhance operational efficiency by implementing automated reporting solutions, ensuring accuracy in gift processing, and working closely with key university users to maintain accurate constituent information. In addition to entering gifts and issuing acknowledgments and tax letters, the DBA will serve as a liaison with the Accounting department for reconciliations. They will generate mailing lists for events and fundraising campaigns, implement procedures to ensure the integrity of the Raiser's Edge database, and train staff on proper report generation and data entry procedures. The DBA will also be actively involved in reviewing and redesigning processes to align with the university's organizational goals, overseeing event registrations and operational budgets. This role requires a proactive and results-driven professional who contributes to the university's vision and values.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and provide technical expertise for the Raiser's Edge Fund Raising service.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to establish consistent processes ensuring data integrity in Advancement databases.
  • Implement automated reporting solutions to enhance efficiency.
  • Ensure accuracy in gift processing and maintain constituent information.
  • Enter gifts and issue acknowledgments and tax letters.
  • Serve as a liaison with the Accounting department on reconciliations.
  • Generate mailing lists for events and fundraising campaigns.
  • Implement procedures to ensure the integrity of the Raiser's Edge database.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or current certification related to Raiser's Edge database management.
  • 5 years of experience with fundraising software, preferably in higher education.
  • Experience with utilizing the Raiser's Edge NXT interface.
  • Experience with Omatic's tools available with Raiser's Edge.
  • Demonstrated proficiency using data querying tools with large data sets.
  • Advanced Excel and Word skills and advanced skills with Blackbaud products.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Commitment to data integrity, consistency, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism in all circumstances.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage diverse projects and complete them timely with limited supervision.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills for developing proposals, reports, and correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively use social media and measure analytics.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Strong proficiency using technology for correspondence, advancement tools, presentations, special reports, spreadsheets, databases, forms, etc.
