Database Administrator/Hydrogeologist 3

About the position

The Arizona Department of Water Resources (ADWR) is seeking a Hydrogeologist 3 for the Hydrology Division, Field Services Section. This position will serve as technical, logistical, and informational support for the Field Services (FS) Section to be assigned under the Hydrogeologist Manager. Responsible for the quality assurance, control, and upgrades relating to the Department's Groundwater Site Inventory (GWSI) Oracle Database and developing GWSI policy and documentation. The person in this position will occasionally conduct field work for site quality assurance, control, and review. A hybrid work schedule (some work in the office and some work from home) is available for this position.

Responsibilities

• Assisting Field Services Managers/Supervisors and Chief Hydrologist with the quality assurance and control of all data within the Groundwater Site Inventory (GWSI) Oracle database.
• Developing all ArcGIS Field Services Section projects and analysis.
• Compiling and analyzing hydrologic data from a variety of sources and databases.
• Performing tasks in support of other Section activities, such as maintaining and updating Field Service Section web pages and dashboards.
• Documenting and maintaining records retention for both physical and digital files.
• Serving as subject matter expert and point of contact on long-term and agency-wide projects.
• Conducting field inspections of index books and other GWSI well sites for adherence to Section Standard Operating Procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in hydrology, civil engineering, geology, watershed management or a related field.
• Five (5) years of related experience, or a Master's degree and three (3) years of related experience, or a PhD and one (1) year of related experience.
• Possession of and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver's license appropriate to the assignment.
