About The Position

The Database Administrator l will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing our company's database systems. This includes designing, implementing, and monitoring database security measures, managing user access, and ensuring data accuracy and availability. The successful candidate will have strong technical skills, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in database administration, or related experience for Level I.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in database administration, or related experience for Level II.

  • Knowledge of database design principles and best practices.
  • Knowledge of SQL and database management systems.
  • Understanding of database security concepts and techniques.
  • Familiarity with backup and recovery procedures for databases.
  • Knowledge of performance tuning and optimization techniques.
  • Ability to effectively document procedures for work instructions, audit, and control purposes.
  • Understanding of data modeling and normalization concepts.
  • Experience with database administration tools, such as Oracle Enterprise Manager and SQL Server Management Studio.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based database systems, such as AWS RDS and Azure SQL Database.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement and maintain database systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Monitor database systems to identify and resolve performance issues.
  • Develop and implement database backup and recovery procedures to ensure data availability.
  • Ensure database security by implementing and maintaining access controls, encryption, and other security measures.
  • Analyze database usage patterns and recommend changes to improve efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain documentation of database systems, including data dictionaries, system specifications, and user manuals.
  • Provide technical support and assistance to end-users and IT staff in resolving database-related issues.
  • Manage database user accounts, including creating, modifying, and deleting user accounts as needed.
  • Perform database maintenance tasks, such as software updates, patches, and data purging.
