Corning Credit Union (CCU) is seeking a Database Administrator I to join our IT Infrastructure Team. This role is crucial in providing oversight and assurance of the enterprise data processing environments' performance, integrity, and system stability. The Database Administrator will be responsible for managing systems owned by CCU as well as third-party connections and cloud-based applications. The position involves supporting CCU's data processing environment, which includes implementing tactical solutions, ongoing maintenance, strategic planning, and compliance driven by regulators, corporate leadership, and financial industry requirements. The Database Administrator will ensure that all database platforms remain stable and secure through regular validation of server configurations and monitoring. This role requires collaboration with the infrastructure team to perform testing for Business Continuity (BC) and recommending new technologies to enhance stability, functionality, and security. The administrator will also perform data migrations and assist with platform installation and upgrades, ensuring that the database environment stays up to date with required service packs, hotfixes, and security updates. In addition, the Database Administrator will work cross-functionally with various operational teams to address performance or stability issues within the systems. Proactive engagement with team members and business stakeholders is essential to provide recommendations and findings from root cause analyses. The role also includes maintaining data integrity, advising and implementing system and data retention policies, and interacting with vendors and third-party providers to ensure timely actions. The Database Administrator may lead small to moderate projects with minimal oversight, sharing knowledge and providing guidance to team members.
