About the position

The Database Administrator II position at FIT Staffing involves ensuring the integrity and efficient operation of database systems across the enterprise. This role requires monitoring database alerts, performing incident responses, and executing backup and restore processes. The position may involve working independently or collaborating with senior database administrators, and it is a contract opportunity with a potential extension.

Responsibilities

• Monitor level 1 database alerts and job failures.
• Remediate or escalate database failures to senior-level database administrators.
• Perform level 1 incident response, identify root causes, and drive incident resolution.
• Execute and troubleshoot database backup and restore processes across various environments.
• Conduct Oracle database upgrades, automation, migration, and capacity planning.
• Monitor and troubleshoot server health, including database status and security issues.
• Adhere to company database standards, policies, and best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a computer-related field or 1-3 years' experience in information technology.
• At least 1 year of Oracle 19c DBMS experience in a multi-server, multi-database environment.
• Understanding of database administration principles and practices.
• Experience with SQL Server high availability/DR solutions like Always ON Availability Groups is a plus.
• Microsoft SQL experience in a multi-server, multi-database environment.

Nice-to-haves

• Some SQL / Azure Managed Instance server experience.
• Experience with SQL Sentry for performance tuning.
