About the position

As a Database Administrator III at V2X, you will play a critical role in managing and optimizing SQL Server database environments, particularly focusing on the Maximo database setup. Your responsibilities will include leading the installation and configuration of these database environments, ensuring they align with best practices for performance and security. You will monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement changes to enhance speed and efficiency. This includes applying indexing strategies, optimizing SQL queries, and configuring server resources to meet the demands of our operations. In addition to performance monitoring, you will be responsible for implementing robust backup strategies to ensure data integrity and availability. You will manage user roles and permissions, ensuring data is encrypted as necessary to protect against unauthorized access. Regular database maintenance tasks will also fall under your purview, including updating statistics, rebuilding indexes, and applying necessary patches or updates to the SQL Server and Maximo systems. Troubleshooting will be a key part of your role, as you will need to address problems as they arise and provide technical support to users and other IT staff. You will also monitor the growth of databases and plan for future storage, compute, and memory needs, ensuring that our database systems can scale effectively. Additionally, you will create and manage reports and extract data for analysis purposes, contributing to informed decision-making across the organization.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience with a BA/BS degree or 5+ years with a MA/MS degree, or 14+ years with an AA/No Degree.
