About the position

The Senior Database Administrator III at Newrez is responsible for developing and optimizing database application components, managing data storage, and ensuring data security and performance within a medium-sized enterprise environment. This role involves collaboration with various teams to produce documentation and technical solutions that meet business needs while adhering to quality standards. The position emphasizes superior service delivery to residential mortgage borrowers and business partners through effective communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, implement, and refine database standards and procedures for data security, optimization, and performance.
  • Collaborate with Security and Network Administrators to integrate Windows network security with SQL Server security.
  • Design and implement de-normalized database structures for business intelligence and decision support systems.
  • Work with Software Engineers to design, program, test, and deploy SQL-based solutions.
  • Provide technology expertise and collaborate with colleagues and vendors to assess and implement technical solutions.
  • Ensure coding accuracy and create technical documentation while utilizing software configuration and quality management processes.
  • Maximize productivity and effectiveness in project completion with team participants.
  • Provide training and guidance to less experienced personnel.
  • Participate in identifying measurable objectives for organizational support and personal growth.
  • Migrate databases and conduct disaster recovery drills.
  • Protect corporate data assets and intellectual property.
  • Assist less experienced colleagues with technical direction and instruction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology/computer science or equivalent experience.
  • Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA) certification.
  • Authority in SQL Server 2022 and SQL 2019 with three years of SQL Server Integration Services experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Competent in code management, project management, testing/quality assurance, and version control.
  • Knowledge of information systems terminology and distributed computing environments.
  • Proficiency in SQL replication concepts and tools.
  • AWS experience is beneficial.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Competent in MS Analysis Service, MS Reporting Services, and data warehouse/data mart technologies.
  • Vendor certification in relevant applications or technologies is desired.
  • Experience with mortgage industry systems is beneficial.
