The Senior Database Administrator will be responsible for managing and maintaining our company's Oracle and SQL Server databases. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and the ability to work well with a team. The Senior Database Administrator will design, implement, and maintain Oracle and SQL Server databases, ensuring their performance, availability, and security. This includes developing and implementing database standards and infrastructure, monitoring and optimizing database performance, and managing database capacity. The role also involves planning and executing database migration, upgrades, and patching, as well as conducting database troubleshooting and performance tuning. Additionally, the Senior Database Administrator will be responsible for backing up and restoring databases and interfacing with developers to provide SQL tuning advice.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain Oracle and SQL Server databases.
  • Ensure database performance, availability, and security.
  • Develop and implement database standards and infrastructure.
  • Monitor and optimize database performance and manage database capacity.
  • Plan and execute database migration, upgradation, and patching.
  • Conduct database troubleshooting and performance tuning.
  • Backup and restore databases.
  • Interface with developers and provide SQL tuning advice.

Requirements

  • 8-9 years of experience as a Database Administrator.
  • Proficient in Oracle and SQL Server database administration.
  • Experience with performance tuning and optimization (PTO).
  • Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for Oracle and SQL Server.
  • Experience with backups, restores, and recovery models.
  • Knowledge of Windows server, including Active Directory and proper disk configurations.
  • Good communication and documentation skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, or Microsoft SQL Server certification.
  • Experience with cloud services (Azure, AWS, etc.)
  • Familiarity with server virtualization and SAN management.
