About the position

The Database Administrator position at the Illinois Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT) involves working within a team of DBAs to ensure the operational integrity, backup, and optimization of database servers. The role includes conducting in-depth technical research and systems analysis, as well as daily monitoring and documentation of operational processes.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a Database Administrator for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT).
• Conduct and coordinate in-depth studies involving substantial technical research and systems analysis.
• Perform problem diagnostics of complex operating systems and issues.
• Act as project coordinator for major and complex projects, including large hardware/software deployments across multiple agencies and locations.
• Stay updated on new developments in the Information Technology field.
• Perform other duties as required or assigned.

Requirements

• Experience in database administration and management.
• Strong technical research and systems analysis skills.
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex operating system problems.
• Project coordination experience, particularly with large-scale IT projects.
