About the position

The Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT) is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Information Systems Analyst II, Opt S, who will serve as a Database Administrator. This role is crucial in supporting the Department of Children & Family Services (DCFS) by performing complex professional and advisory functions in Systems Services. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining database systems, ensuring data integrity, security, and availability. This position requires a strong understanding of database management systems, data modeling, and performance tuning. The Database Administrator will work collaboratively with various teams to design, implement, and optimize database solutions that meet the needs of the agency. Additionally, the role involves troubleshooting database issues, providing technical support, and developing documentation for database processes and procedures. The ideal candidate will possess excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain database systems for the Department of Children & Family Services (DCFS).
  • Ensure data integrity, security, and availability of database systems.

  • Troubleshoot database issues and provide technical support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience in database management and administration.
  • Strong knowledge of database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle).
  • Proficiency in data modeling and performance tuning.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
