The Database Administrator IV at Intercontinental Exchange Holdings, Inc. plays a crucial role in supporting and maintaining multiple production and non-production databases that have significant strategic impact across the enterprise. This position is responsible for the standards and design of physical data storage, maintenance, access, and security administration. The role requires a strategic engineering leadership approach to drive technology improvements and ensure successful implementation of projects, including tech-stack upgrades. The DBA will act as a technical liaison between the DBA team and various lines of business, fostering relationships to enhance collaboration and efficiency. Key responsibilities include performing backup and recovery on Database Management Systems, configuring database parameters, and prototyping designs against logical data models. The DBA will define data repository requirements, data dictionaries, and warehousing requirements while optimizing database access and allocating resources for optimal configuration and performance. Ensuring that service level agreements are met for both internal and external clients is a critical aspect of this role. The DBA will also provide status reports detailing issues for escalation to management, perform configuration, scripting, analysis, installation, monitoring, administration, and tuning for database management systems. In addition, the DBA will conduct data analysis to provide management with timely and accurate information, predict future requirements, and develop, implement, and test database backup and recovery policies and procedures. Documentation for database policies, procedures, and processes must be created and maintained. Routine maintenance on databases is essential to keep them running at peak performance, and the DBA will monitor database performance, availability, and capacity. The role also involves reviewing database storage utilization, developing trend analysis for incident remediation and prevention, and participating in continuous business process redesign to improve internal operations. The DBA will interface with user departments both remotely and on-site to assist in implementing work requests and providing operational support, troubleshoot issues, and recommend solutions. Additionally, the DBA will research and evaluate new RDBMS for possible implementation and perform other duties as required.
