About the position

This position is responsible for database design, performance tuning, data integration, including schema definition, structure, long-range requirements, developing documentation, data security measures, and operational guidelines and protection. This role is crucial for enhancing our data infrastructure and ensure data integrity, security, efficiency, and availability to support our organization initiatives. The DBA will collaborate closely with others and have a proactive approach, excellent problem-solving skills and contribute immediately to our team's success.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deliver robust database solutions tailored to the organization's needs, ensuring scalability and performance.
  • Develop and maintain a data warehouse architecture that supports data integration, reporting, and analytics for informed decision-making.
  • Maintain and monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement tuning strategies to optimize efficiency and reliability.
  • Establish and enforce data security protocols to protect sensitive information, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Design and implement comprehensive backup and recovery strategies to safeguard data integrity and availability.
  • Work closely with the business intelligence team and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and provide technical support for data-related projects.
  • Create and maintain documentation for database systems and processes and provide training to team members on database management best practices.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies, recommending improvements to enhance the organization's data capabilities.

Requirements

  • Proven ability to translate business requirements into a production environment.
  • Knowledge of virtualization techniques and technologies to facilitate the development of highly scalable, multi-tenant SaaS offerings.
  • Ability to interpret, analyze, and apply pertinent service level agreements, policies, procedures, regulations, and other requirements, and turn them into actionable outcomes.
  • Ability to triage and escalate to supervisor and/or other teams for resolution.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to balance competing priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to ask questions, gather information, evaluate options, make decisions and clearly communicate technical information and ideas.
  • Must be able to think creatively and propose innovative ideas.
  • Must be able to work Pacific Standard Time (PST) hours.
