The Database Administrator, Mid position at Cyberstar, LLC, located in Reston, Virginia, is an exciting opportunity for individuals looking to enhance their skills and advance their careers in a dynamic business environment. In this role, the Database Administrator will apply laws, policies, directives, and guidance to acquisitions throughout the total life cycle. The position involves providing systems engineering support to assess and oversee the technical requirements, design, development, and implementation of database systems under the purview of the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA). The Database Administrator will conduct requirements analysis, design, development, performance measurement, verification and validation, certification and accreditation, deployment, change management, and transition, utilizing a broad and deep set of engineering and database expertise. The role also requires analyzing various database structures and links, developing singular or multiple databases to meet the contractual needs of the DIA, and potentially performing data migration from various client databases into a consolidated database. The Database Administrator will analyze functional business applications and design specifications for functional activities, employing knowledge of client-server and internet systems architectures. Onsite customer support in a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) located in Reston, VA, is required a minimum of two days per week, along with other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct requirements analysis, design, development, performance measurement, verification and validation, certification and accreditation, deployment, change management, and transition by applying a broad and deep set of engineering and database expertise.
  • Analyze various database structures and links and develop singular or multiple databases capable of populating data to meet the contractual needs of the DIA.
  • May be required to perform data migration from various client databases into a consolidated database.
  • Analyze functional business applications and design specifications for functional activities.
  • Employ knowledge of client-server and internet systems architectures.
  • Provide onsite customer support in their SCIF located in Reston, VA a minimum of two (2) days per week.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 5+ years of experience with systems engineering support, including requirements definitions, architecture development, and other program support.
  • Possess and maintain a valid state motor vehicle operator's license.
  • DoD 8570 IAT or IAM Level II or III certification required.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance required (with CI Poly preferred).

Nice-to-haves

  • 5+ years of experience with database development preferred.
  • Ability to demonstrate a broad and deep set of engineering expertise.
  • Knowledge of the software development life cycle (SLDC) is required.
  • Experience with Jira Product Management software is required.
  • Possess significant knowledge and experience with database procedure languages, including SQL, MySQL, T-SQL, PostgreSQL, and MariaDB.
  • Ability to understand complex database concepts, including the implications of different database designs, and possesses demonstrated work experience with more than one relational database management system.
  • Ability to create and maintain Extract Transform and Load scripts.
  • Strong communication skills (both written and oral), strong customer service, and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to listen and understand what is being described by the end user as well as the ability to explain problem resolutions when necessary.
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision or guidance.
  • Ability to occasionally work after hours and/or as on-call support.
