About the position

The Database Administrator at Aviation Technical Services (ATS) is responsible for managing all databases within the organization. This role involves preparing, modifying, installing, testing, and maintaining databases, as well as identifying and resolving system software issues. The Database Administrator will also develop system documentation, design and maintain the enterprise data model, and evaluate products for potential purchase. This position requires leadership skills and the ability to consult within the ITS Department, ensuring that emerging technologies align with business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership in the field and serve as a consultant in the ITS Department.
• Identify emerging technologies and select those that address business objectives.
• Conduct high-impact studies and make recommendations to adopt improved technologies and methodologies for applications in development.
• Develop, maintain, and modify the corporate database schema.
• Research applicable products and services to make approved changes.
• Test and document modifications when necessary.
• Coordinate projects with vendors and other staff members.
• Coordinate technical activities within a division to ensure consistent implementation.
• Assess the impact of hardware and software changes in development and production environments.
• Install new software releases and system upgrades, evaluate and install patches.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Minimum of five (5) years of related experience in the design, maintenance, and administration of Oracle databases.
• Experience in managing Oracle databases that run EBS applications.
