About the position

The Database Administrator (Oracle) will be responsible for data analysis and database management, focusing on the maintenance, enhancement, and design of data dictionaries and database models. This role involves performance tuning and ensuring the efficient operation of Oracle and SQL Server databases in a fully remote environment.

Responsibilities

  • Migrate and upgrade Oracle and SQL Server databases.
  • Coordinate physical changes to computer databases; code, test, and implement physical databases.
  • Design logical and physical databases, reviewing changes to understand their impact.
  • Establish physical database parameters and define database objects using SQL.
  • Calculate optimum values for database parameters based on manuals and calculations.
  • Specify user access levels for data items and manage user access to databases.
  • Test and correct errors, refining changes to the database as needed.
  • Use database utility programs and third-party utilities to monitor performance.
  • Modify database programs to enhance processing performance.

Requirements

  • Experience with Oracle, SQL Server, and Unix.
  • Knowledge of data storage management utilities and production tools.
  • Experience managing Oracle databases and client requirements as an Admin.
  • Experience migrating Oracle 12c to Oracle 19c.
  • Experience writing shell scripts for backup automation.
  • Experience managing databases on Unix and Windows operating systems.
  • Bachelor's Degree.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience migrating SQL Server database 2014 to SQL Server 2019.
