About the position

The Database Administrator position involves managing and maintaining all production and non-production databases, ensuring optimal performance, security, and accessibility. The role requires expertise in Oracle database systems, particularly version 19C and Cloud, and includes responsibilities such as backup and recovery, database configuration, and resource allocation. The position is primarily remote but may require monthly on-site meetings in Tallahassee, FL.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain all production and non-production databases.
• Ensure standards and design of physical data storage, maintenance, access, and security administration.
• Perform backup and recovery on Database Management Systems.
• Configure database parameters and prototype designs against logical data models.
• Define data repository requirements, data dictionaries, and warehousing requirements.
• Optimize database access and allocate/re-allocate database resources for optimum configuration and performance.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience as a Database Administrator with Oracle, preferably 19C and Cloud.
• Strong experience with database backup procedures and recovery systems.
• Experience with Oracle tools and utilities, including Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN), Oracle Data Guard, Oracle SQL Developer, and Toad.
• Strong understanding of SQL and PL/SQL and ability to write complex queries.
• Ability to effectively communicate technical information.
• Ability to work well with system administrators and application developers while troubleshooting issues.
• A four-year degree in a computer science related field, and Oracle DBA certification.
