The Database Administrator Principal position at CGI Federal requires US citizenship and an active Top Secret clearance. This role is essential for supporting a large project for a federal government client, and it can be based in either Washington, DC or Huntsville, AL. The successful candidate will join a dedicated team of developers, application engineers, and other Database Administrators (DBAs) to manage a complex solution that includes multi-site replication, concurrent application users, logical and physical replication, and multiple reporting solution databases. In this role, the individual will be responsible for developing, executing, and evaluating database code, functions, and queries specifically on an Oracle database platform. The position also involves installing, troubleshooting, and administering Oracle databases, utilizing Oracle utilities, administration, and OEM management. The candidate will need to demonstrate a strong background in Oracle database administration across various operating systems, including Windows, Linux, AIX, and Solaris. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related discipline, along with a minimum of 10 years of experience as a Database Administrator. Strong experience with Oracle Database Administration is required, as well as proficiency in MS SQL. Familiarity with Active Data Guard and other database technologies such as SQL Server, Informix, DB2, MySQL, and SAP HANA is considered a plus. Excellent analytical, written, and oral communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work collaboratively within a team of experienced DBAs. Due to the nature of the government contract, US Citizenship is a strict requirement.
