About the position

The Senior Database Administrator (SAP Hana) will be responsible for managing and maintaining the SAP Hana database engine and systems. This role involves close collaboration with data modelers to optimize queries and code for memory and CPU efficiency. The position requires strong experience in database administration, production operations, and customer service, with a focus on performance tuning and systems administration.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain the SAP Hana database engine and systems.
• Collaborate with data modelers to optimize queries and code for memory and CPU efficiency.
• Perform heavy systems administration and database administration tasks.
• Ensure database security setup and management, including Active Directory and SAML integration.
• Conduct backup and recovery operations for database systems.
• Implement database design, indexes, and performance optimization strategies.
• Utilize SQL performance tuning techniques to enhance database performance.
• Administer Linux systems for in-memory data processing.
• Automate tasks using shell and Python scripting.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience with SAP Hana in-memory database administration.
• 3-5+ years of database administration expertise, including setup and upgrade of database systems.
• Experience in backup/recovery processes.
• Knowledge of database security management and user access provisioning.
• Strong understanding of database design and performance optimization skills.
• Experience with SQL performance tuning.
• Linux systems administration skills for operating system tuning.
• Proficiency in shell and Python scripting for automation.
