About the position

As a Database Analyst Senior at GDIT, you will play a crucial role in transforming data into actionable insights for our clients, particularly in support of the US Navy Training. Your responsibilities will encompass the design, planning, implementation, and administration of databases, ensuring their security, access, and comprehensive documentation. You will be tasked with creating databases that consider various factors such as access methods, access time, batch processes, device allocation, validation checks, organization, ETL tasks, and statistical methods. Your expertise will be essential in preparing system requirements, conducting source analysis, and performing process analyses and design throughout the database implementation phase. In this role, you will analyze customer requirements and provide technical solutions to complex problems, leveraging your knowledge of API (Application Programming Interface) for data services and databases. Your work will not only contribute to the efficiency of our operations but also help advance the mission of our clients. Responsibilities

  • Design, plan, implement, and administer databases, including security, access, and documentation.
  • Design and implement databases considering access methods, access time, batch processes, device allocation, validation checks, organization, ETL tasks, protection and security, documentation, and statistical methods.
  • Prepare system requirements, source analysis, and process analyses and design throughout the database implementation.
  • Analyze customer requirements and provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
  • Apply knowledge of API (Application Programming Interface) for data services and databases.

Requirements

  • BS in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a quantitative discipline (i.e., Mathematics, or Engineering).
  • Three (3) years continuous experience with increasing responsibilities in information systems or network design and implementation in broad-based information technology settings.
  • Three (3) years experience in database maintenance and development (MS Access, as a minimum), with Cold Fusion and XML expertise.
  • Capability to structure course content in both a database and XML display that facilitates content through a browser-based template.
  • Must possess a Secret security clearance and be a US citizen.
