About the position

As a Database Administrator Senior - Level 3 at Lockheed Martin, you will play a crucial role in supporting classified programs as the Maintenance and Logistics Information System expert. This position is based in either Palmdale or Fort Worth, where you will be responsible for the management and administration of relational databases. Your primary duties will include troubleshooting database issues, ensuring the database is operational 24/7/365, and working closely with field engineers, logistics personnel, and subcontractors to facilitate the timely processing of logistics, maintenance, and operational events. This role is essential for the successful delivery of database-derived contractual deliverables. In your daily tasks, you will interface directly with internal and external customers to address sustainment-related inquiries and provide remedial training as needed. You will also be responsible for conducting data integrity audits, analyzing data, and reporting performance metrics. Your expertise will be vital in evaluating compliance with customer security requirements and maintaining the security and integrity of the databases. You will implement and maintain the smooth operation and physical design of databases, review database designs, and provide recommendations for enhancements and improvements. Your responsibilities will extend to database loading, developing and managing operational procedures, environment management, monitoring database health, resource planning, and backup and recovery strategy planning. You will also be involved in environment transition planning across development, test, stage, and production environments. This position requires a U.S. citizenship and a current Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret SCI/SAP clearance, given the sensitive nature of the work.

Responsibilities

  • Database management, administration, and troubleshooting.
  • Working with field engineers, logistics, procurement personnel, and subcontractors to ensure timely processing of logistics, maintenance, and operational events.
  • Interfacing with internal and external customers to answer sustainment-related questions and provide remedial training.
  • Providing database training to maintenance and logistics personnel.
  • Performing data integrity audits and analyzing data to report performance metrics.
  • Evaluating compliance with customer security requirements.
  • Implementing and maintaining the smooth operation and physical design of databases.
  • Reviewing database design and integration of systems, providing backup recovery, and making recommendations for enhancements.
  • Participating in the formulation of policies, procedures, and standards related to database management and user events processing.
  • Monitoring transaction activity and utilization, including database loading and environment management.

Requirements

  • Experience with database mapping to external sources like MS ACCESS.
  • Aircraft sustainment/maintenance experience.
  • Oracle/SQL administration including performance monitoring, tuning, backups, and disaster recovery.
  • Experience with creating active links, user forms, and process routines within tools like MS ACCESS.
  • Active Top Secret Clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Willingness to adjust work hours to include weekend work for system updates and troubleshooting.
  • Previous back-end experience with CAMS, IMDS, NALCOMIS, ALIS, IMIS, or other Maintenance and Logistics systems.
  • Multi-tasking skills and strong communication skills.
